FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Kathryn J. Schroeder, of Fishkill, died Nov. 14. She was 92.
She was born April 6, 1924, in Queens Village, Long Island. She moved to the Mid-Hudson Valley in 1952, living primarily in Wappinger Falls for 44 years and Fishkill for 20 years. She was the daughter of the late Anthony J. Becker and Theresa Heller Becker.
She was married June 3, 1950, in Middle Village, Long Island, to Arthur H. Schroeder, who predeceased her Nov. 16, 1981.
She retired from IBM East Fishkill in 1990, where she was a senior procedures analyst in the safety/industrial hygiene department She also was retired from Wappingers Central School District in 1977, where she served in various positions, including senior secretary to the superintendent and clerk of the board of education.
Also predeceasing her was her beloved sister, Evelyn M. Young; and son, Gary J. Schroeder.
She is survived by her youngest son, the Rev. Robert A. Schroeder and daughter-in-law Nancy Schroeder; and three grandsons, Stephen J. Elting, Matthew R. Schroeder and Scott N. Stella.
Calling hours are from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1400 Route 52, Fishkill. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. with the Rev. John Young officiating.
